The impression one gets of Cobham is vast expanses of Themeda and Festuca grassland which turn from emerald green in spring and summer to shades of gold, brown and purple in autumn and winter.

We are on a farm in the central Drakensberg, we have 4 free standing cottages all with fireplaces that can sleep between 4-5 people, they are all two bed roomed. We also have a campsite with electricity points and there isan ablution block with hot and cold running water.

Garden Castle is the southern most part of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park and incorporates the beautiful Bushman's Nek Valley. Dominated by the Rhino a 3051m Peak which extends about 2km from the main escarpment , the area is characterized by many unusual sandstone buttresses and other formations.
The reserve has three of the Giants Cup Hiking way huts , each of which provides 30 beds with mattresses. Visitors provide their own sleeping bags , lighting and provisions. Overnight hikers have the choice of numerous caves or may use a tent to camp but must carry all other requirements for their hike.

There is a very attractive campground with hot and cold water ablution facilities which can accommodate 120 people. Four caves, the Lower Injisuthi Cave, Upper Injisuthi Cave, Marble Baths cave and Grindstone Cave are ideal overnight stops for hikers.

Boating and fishing are the main activities, while a resident yacht club, the Bushman's Boating Club has its club house there for the benefit of it's members. There is a 3 km self-guided trail along the Bushmans River where several species of game occur. This area abounds with birdlife, including fish eagle and black eagle which have nested in the reserve for many years. Species of fish commonly caught in the dam are scaly, bluegill, bass, carp, eel and the occasional trout.
Accommodation: There are two caravan/camping grounds with hot and cold water. All sites have power points. A Youth Centre, which may be used for a variety of educational or environmental activities, has four 18-bedded dormitories. Attached to each is a flatlet with two beds for use by teachers or guides.
