No vehicles are permitted on any section. It is a prime area for game fishing and for snorkelling and many record breaking catches have been made from the rocks here. To walk this beach at sunrise or at night is an unforgettable experience.

From this point northwards to Kosi Bay, the water is clear and warm, with coral reefs, oyster and mussel beds and prolific sea life of every description. There are five species of turtle that are encountered offshore and whales and whale sharks pass up and down the coast.

At present, there is no accommodation open to the public at Black Rock.
